2008-08-05 A.J. Hall Collection on your shiny new 3G iPhone

You can read the A.J.Hall Collection on your shiny new 3G iPhone, (no Jailbreak required,) by using the BookShelf ebook reader, which is available in the Apps Store:
App Store Bookshelf (iTunes link)

The procedure is a bit complicated but when you have the Bookshelf reader on your iPhone you will also need their ShelfServer software to get the ebooks onto your iPhone (this runs on your Mac/PC.) Then it is perhaps easiest to follow the instructions on the Bookshelf web site. Start with the video 'Part Three: Setting up ShelfServer' and work backwards...

Last but not least you can download this ebook collection manually from: http://www.lopiverse.shoesforindustry.net/ajhallcollection-0.1.zip
Unzip the collection and then in your ShelfServer (Add Directory) using the 'AJ Hall Collection' folder that was created when you unzipped the download. Follow the rest of the videos.

Sorry this is a bit complicated, we will be looking to build our own ShelfServer repository when we get five minutes, so you can get the eBooks directly from your iPhone. There is also a small bug with chapter sorting on the current version of the Bookshelf ebook reader - we have logged a bug report - but you should be aware of it.

Please note that neither the Bookshelf/ShelfServer applications or their writers have any relation to the author of these ebooks or to shoes for industry and we receive no money from their sales!

2008-06-17 *New ruBooks.app

An expansion of the original book app, can now read many new formats
http://colel.info/rubooks/

2008-03-06 *Updated Book.app and Ebook folder location

If you are on iPhone/iTouch version 1.1.3 or above then ebooks should be stored in the 'var/mobile/Media/EBooks/' folder.
(Earlier ones were stored in the 'var/root/Media/EBooks/' folder)

You will also need to use the updated Book.app 1.4+ from the new temporary repository (add it to your istaller sources)
thebedells.org/books/
Or download from
code.google.com/p/iphoneebooks/
(We are trying to get the Book.app put back to the normal repository.)

You may need to uninstall and then re-install your ebooks to get them into the right folder or move them manually if the ebook installer has not been updated. I'm trying to get the AJ Hall Collection installer updated ASAP, currently they install into the wrong folder ('var/root/Media/EBooks/') and would need to be moved manually to 'var/mobile/Media/EBooks/'. This may or may not lose your reading place in your ebooks so make a note before upgrading.
(For earlier versions of the iPhone stick with the Book.app 1.3.7 from the normal installer source.)

2008-03-03 *Web sites down for updates

All the A.J. Hall web sites are likely to be down during the period 2008/03/03 - 2008/03/04, due to our host upgrading their servers. Lets hope it all goes well and apologies for the inconvenience.

2008-02-26 *The A.J. Hall Collection for iPhone and iTouch - update

For later versions of these devices try the software iJailBreak (http://ijailbreak.com/)
to Jailbreak/unlock your iPhone/iTouch, so that you can use the 'Installer' to install the 'Book' app and then this eBook collection.
As ever you do so at your own risk...

2007-10-30 *The A.J. Hall Collection for iPhone and iTouch

We are very pleased to announce that the complete A.J. Hall collection is now available for your 'modified' iPhone and iTouch.

You will need to install the fantastic Books app (eBook Reader), available from the 'Installer app', (which should be installed when you modify your iPhone or iPod touch,) under the 'Productivity' section. The eBook collection itself, is also available from this 'Installer app' under the eBooks section. (Install the eBook reader first). You can also download the A.J. Hall eBook collection yourself for a manual install.

Our special thanks to STE Packaging who did all the hard work to make it available in the iPhone/iPod touch Installer app, thank you Shaun.

Although we do not want any money for this eBook collection, it is a labour of love, you might like to donate to the eBook reader developers and also to STE packaging, who make iPhone and iPod touch stuff available from the installer app. You may also wish to donate to the iPhone and iPod touch modifiers.
(Please note that none of these sites have any relation to the author or to shoes for industry and we receive no money from these donations!)

2004-08-15 *Nine new web sites launched!

We are pleased to announce that we have finally upgraded all A.J.'s e-book web sites to a new more accessible and standards based 'book style' format, hope you like them?

We have also re-edited all the works and produced new downloadable versions in MS Reader, Palm eReader and a simple zipped HTML format. (If you're currently reading an e-book and what to upgrade to the newest version make a note of where you are first. Your e-book reader will probably lose your place!)

At this web site you will find links to all the e-books, a travel guide and map to the village of Malfoy Intrinsica and floor plans to Malfoy Manor, news, updates, FAQ's and lots more background to the LoPiverse:

2004-06-12 *Microsoft Reader Update

Microsoft have released a new version of their free e-book reader for Pocket PC. Apart from the usual bug fixes, it also makes it compatible with Windows Mobile 2003 Special Edition equipped Pocket PC's and also provides for pan and zoom and screen rotation. More information on the other new features can be found at the Microsoft Reader web site.
As we don't have one of these devices we would be very interested in hearing from users who have one. In particular how the web site and the MS Reader e-books look and perform on this new version. If you have such a device please let us know.
